Privacy Issues in Social Media

Privacy Issues and Social Media

The art of opting out vs. the art of opting in, this is the main concern of the social media genre today.  Many tweeters are growing weary of this very thing in social media.  What is perplexing is the fact that this is not uncommon.  Privacy concerns will only continue to grow as our technology emerges in the 21st century.  With social media there have been countless predictions of privacy nightmares that will take place. Just as in the Social Network movie, privacy issues were raised as being one of the biggest conflicts of social media.  No keeping up to date with your account and communicating with your social peers can be chaotic to an extent.  Many users of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter at times get their account hacked into.  Some accounts have been closed by hackers and or tarnished at one time or another.  What kind of information is acceptable to post on social networking sites?  Posting Things that will not come back to bite you in the rear end. Accomplishments and statuses have to be properly worded in order to not cause social devastation to the user.  It is also a great idea to post updates when you are not at work, contradicting your shift schedule and causing alarm to your productivity.
